Presently alongside at Town Wharf Marina at Mahe Island, Seychelles, MY Kalizma was built in 1906 and is steeped in history. Amongst her famous owner’s, she counts Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor (the yacht is named after their three children, Kate, Lisa and Marie).
She is available for live aboard and charter to the discerning guest and offers modern amenities, exquisite cuisine and a host of watersports activities.
The Seychelles offer a diverse range of island for cruising, beach activities and diving. The island life beckons and your holiday starts on the board this beautiful yacht!
Fill your sails as you leave Port Victoria and travel up the northern coast towards Beau Vallon, hub of Mahé’s tourism industry and home to a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, dive centres and other tourism facilities. Here’s just the place to drop anchor while you enjoy a swim or a stroll along Seychelles’ most famous strand. You might even decide to dine out or try your luck at the nearby casino before heading back aboard.
Sometime during the following morning, it will be time to rejoin Mahé’s north coast, passing by the secluded coves of Anse Major and Anse Du Riz on your way to Baie Ternay and a second night at anchor in spectacular surrounds. Snorkelling is a must-do in the marine reserve here, amid sublime beaches and crystal waters where dolphins often come to play.
The next day might see you cruising down the wild, west coast of Mahé past the spectacular, golden-sanded beach of Grand Anse and the picturesque bay of Anse à La Mouche before arriving at gorgeous Anse Soleil in time for one of the finest sea food dinners around.
From here you’ll be ideally situated to savour the famous southern bays of Petit Anse, Intendance, Police Bay and Anse Marie Louise before striking out for Praslin island, 26 miles distant, and home to the wondrous Vallée de Mai where grows the legendary Coco-de-Mer.
Praslin is an island of romantic bays and sublime beaches, framed by granite boulders dating from the dawn of time, where you can enjoy life at the rhythm and pace of an islander, rich in time and space, living off the abundant fruits of the land and ocean.
Neighbouring La Digue is where time stands still and the chief modes of transport are still the bicycle and ox-cart. The air is thick with tradition, culture and an unhurried way of life, ambling sleepily along shaded tracks of a lush interior towards a selection of sparkling beaches which are sure to steal your heart.
Further north still lie the coral isles of Bird and Denis where the full measure of Nature’s bounty conspires with the comfort and amenities of well-appointed island lodges to offer adventure in the form of unparalleled diving, fishing and the best in open ocean sailing.
And, if you have the time, over the southern horizon lie more than 100 isles, each one with its own particular story to tell, reaching like a line of stepping stones for the coast of Africa.
Each one is a world in itself. Each one will leave you breathless with wonder in the sailing holiday of a lifetime.Kalizma on Youtube Kalizma on Facebook Kalizma on Instagram
